"And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves, for charity shall cover the multitude of sins."
When do we say something is Golden? When something is golden; it is valuable, it is expensive, it is rare. "A Golden Deed" therefore would imply a valuable, rare or expensive action done to an individual directly or indirectly, which positively affects the persons life for the better.
Golden deeds are fully engulfed in the golden rule Matt. 7:12 - "Do to others as you would have them do to you". For every word, action and deed done or said to another, should be an acceptable one by you if the tables are turned, for Galatians 6:7, has told us that "whatever a man sows, that he will also reap".
Invariably, so that we won't be creating a wrong thought here, as some actions look right and golden in our eyes but wrong in the sight of God, lets read Deuteronomy 5:32; 1 John 3:18, God's laws encrypted in the bible govern the good deeds.
Why must we show this Golden Character?
As written in Matt 5:14; "that we are the light of the world", verse 16 further elaborates more on this, that we must let this light shine before men, as they would see this, and glorify our father (Read Matt. 5:16).
Peter also had this to say to the Gentiles in 1 Peter 2:12, which is likewise applicable to us today as we are gentiles of today.
Apart from the glorification of our Heavenly Father by men, when you express good golden deeds, God is pleased likewise. The book of Hebrew 13:16 says "And do not neglect doing good and sharing for with such sacrifice God is pleased".
If this so please God, what are this golden deeds? Read 2 Peter 1:5; charity is the core to brotherly kindness; can you show your brother kindness without charity? There is always a misconception, people believe that charity is to be done by wealthy people; as my mother will always say "from the little you have, give, this is how you will learn the art of giving when you have more".
Effect of Charity
1 Peter 4:8 - And aboveall things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins”
